HAND CRAFTED LIVING ART

Glass Gardens was created out of my love for plants and unique glass and was inspired by my grandfather who never gave up on his art.

How it all started

I have always been interested in plants, art and quirky vintage items. My parents had my siblings and I in art class from a very young age because my grandfather, John Trumbull was an artist. His influence and dedication to his craft cultivated a value of art in my life.

My journey into Terrariums truly started after college. I graduated with an agricultural degree in the beginning of the covid 19 pandemic. As you can imagine I had a lot of time on my hands and wanted to do something with my degree and love of art. I saw a video of someone making a terrarium and I knew it was something I had to try.

The idea of creating something complicated, delicate and beautiful that would then stand on its own for possibly forever was inspiring. The fact that they could be created in any shape or size of container was perfect. I had found something that brought together my love of plants, art and vintage glass. Now I seek to introduce others to this 180 year old art form that is terrariums.

Meet the Creator

Jessica Trumbull

Hi! I’m Jess, I have always loved all things green and exploring new forms of art. I am an MSU graduate with a degree in agriculture and worked in a greenhouse during college. Creating terrariums allowed me to bring the feeling of working in a greenhouse into my home.

I have an amazing boyfriend, Michael and dog Pepper that both encourage me to do what I love (Pepper mostly because she enjoys me being home more).

I have been building terrarium for 5 years and sharing my love of the art for 3 years.
